A WARM WELCOME to the Stockport Jelly – where you can find out more about the co-working phenomenon that is Jelly and how you can participate.
Jelly is a free, informal co-working event where enterprising freelancers, solo-preneurs, home workers, telecommuters and small/micro business owners (or simply anyone who likes a change of scenery now and then) bring their phone and laptop and work, meet and collaborate with others.
It takes place in over a hundred cities worldwide where people come together (in a person’s home, a coffee shop, or an office) to work for the day. The venue provide chairs and sofas and wireless internet enabling the group attract interesting people to meet, collaborate with, and bounce ideas off.
Watch this video of a US Jelly in action to see where the Jelly concept originated and get a feel for what a Jelly co-working event is like.
The ethos of Jelly is to be accessible to all and is free to attend. You bring a laptop (or whatever you need to get your work done) and a friendly disposition.
Jelly is NOT networking – the aim is not to meet new clients, pitch your business or try to sell. Such activity will not make you popular!
Who can come to Jelly?
Anyone!
Jelly tends to naturally attract designers, developers, and internet types, but there are also engineers, musicians, cooks, sound designers, tea sommeliers, product designers, photographers, writers, and more who participate world-wide.
Some of us are entrepreneurs or freelancers. Others work 9-5 in an office, but choose to work at a Jelly for fresh ideas and a change of pace.
No matter what you do or what you create, you’re welcome to come to Stockport Jelly and share your talent and learn from others.
